Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Danny Delphine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroyuki Okamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Delphine comes into the arena with Let the bodies hit the floor! blaring out of the sound system. Okamoto is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Feel the Drive. Danny Delphine is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny Delphine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroyuki Okamoto!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okamoto throws a solid leg kick but Delphine takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Okamoto.
Delphine tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Okamoto lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Okamoto tries to work over Delphine's front leg with a kick but Delphine checks it.

Delphine shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Okamoto is trying to defend but Delphine finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Okamoto is defending against the submission attempts here by Delphine.
Okamoto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Delphine's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Delphine's back!
Delphine tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Delphine is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Okamoto defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Delphine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Okamoto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Okamoto advances to half guard.

Delphine is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Okamoto pulls his head out easily.
Okamoto content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Delphine really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Okamoto wants to take a breather but Delphine is having none of it.
Okamoto not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Delphine is not content to let Okamoto control the position.

Okamoto wants to pass to mount but Delphine is defending the position.

Hiroyuki Okamoto has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Okamoto throws a leg kick but Delphine sees it coming and moves out of range.
Delphine showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Okamoto.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Okamoto will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hiroyuki Okamoto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Okamoto throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Okamoto lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Delphine has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Delphine and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Nice uppercut lands for Okamoto. That snapped Delphine's head back.
Delphine blocks a leg kick.
Okamoto wants to land a leg kick but Delphine is out of range.
Delphine shoots for a takedown but Okamoto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A combination from Okamoto does no damage.
Good leg kick by Okamoto there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Okamoto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Okamoto connects with a solid leg kick.
Delphine takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Delphine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Okamoto.
Okamoto lands a leg kick that knocks Delphine off balance momentarily.
Okamoto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Okamoto tried to score with a low kick but Delphine checks it.
Okamoto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Delphine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Okamoto.
Okamoto fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Delphine checks it well.
Delphine shoots for a takedown but Okamoto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Okamoto misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hiroyuki Okamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Okamoto throws a nice head kick!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Okamoto tries to clinch but Delphine moves out of range.
Okamoto lands a nice leg kick that just misses Delphine's sensitive parts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Okamoto moves into range and clinches up with Delphine.
Okamoto wants to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hiroyuki Okamoto dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Okamoto scores with a hook to the body. Delphine takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Delphine shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Okamoto sprawls well. Okamoto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Delphine gets slowly back to his feet.
A clash of legs there as Delphine blocks the low kick.
Delphine avoids the head kick by Okamoto.
Okamoto throws a nice looking combination but Delphine bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Okamoto throws a sloppy head kick and Delphine moves out of range easily.
Okamoto misses with a leg kick.
Danny Delphine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Okamoto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Okamoto looks for the body kick but Delphine saw that one coming.

Delphine takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Okamoto fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Delphine checks it well.
Delphine on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Okamoto. Okamoto obviously looking to wear him down.
Okamoto misses with a kick to the body

and Delphine counters with a single leg into guard. Okamoto didn't expect that.
Delphine forces his way into half guard.
Delphine tries to pass the half guard into mount. Okamoto knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Delphine will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Delphine works his way into side control.
Danny Delphine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Delphine postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Okamoto takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Okamoto is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Delphine passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Okamoto!
Delphine tries to control but Okamoto wriggling away.
Okamoto is wriggling around trying to escape.
Okamoto sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Delphine throws a strike but Okamoto avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Okamoto utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Okamoto has Delphine pulled in close to control his posture.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Okamoto can do anything to dispel that myth.
Okamoto looking for a sweep. Not yet Okamoto, not yet.
Okamoto wants to stand up but Delphine is controlling him.
Delphine advances position into side control!
Okamoto is not content to let Delphine control the position.
Okamoto dodges the ground and pound from Delphine.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Okamoto stops Delphine from passing to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Delphine is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Okamoto is trying to escape and Delphine transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Okamoto is forced to tap! Nice work there by Delphine! Very nice indeed!
