Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Igor Stroganovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tycho Van Braam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stroganovic comes to the cage accompanied by Fade to Black - Metallica. Tycho Van Braam has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Igor Stroganovic's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Stroganovic.
Van Braam wants to clinch up but Stroganovic keeps it at a distance.
Stroganovic misses with a body kick.
Van Braam tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stroganovic sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Van Braam somewhat.
Van Braam is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Van Braam shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stroganovic manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Stroganovic counters with a big head kick but Van Braam shrugs it off.

Van Braam shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Van Braam showed some decent athleticism there.
Van Braam is still in real trouble! Can Stroganovic finish him?
Stroganovic moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Stroganovic lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Van Braam!
Van Braam seems to have recovered his senses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stroganovic looking to control but Van Braam is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Van Braam is looking to improve his position but Stroganovic isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stroganovic wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Van Braam has him pressed against the cage.

Van Braam throws a chopping leg kick but Stroganovic manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Van Braam avoids the head kick by Stroganovic.
Van Braam darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Stroganovic tries to roll over but Van Braam keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Van Braam is looking for a kimura but Stroganovic is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Van Braam to get the leverage.
Stroganovic is controlling Van Braam's trapped leg to prevent Van Braam from advancing to side control.
Stroganovic is trying to stand back up but Van Braam is controlling him
Stroganovic desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Van Braam has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Stroganovic defend it? Van Braam steps over the head and cranks it - Stroganovic is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Van Braam!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tycho Van Braam!
After the fight, Tycho Van Braam was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
