Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Da Coach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quinton Jackson! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Coach keeps the fight on the outside. Jackson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jackson with a poor takedown and Coach counters with a stiff right hand. Jackson scores with a jab to the body. Coach tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Coach shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Coach showed some decent athleticism there. Jackson is looking for a sweep. Coach is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Coach gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Jackson shoots for a takedown but Coach saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jackson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Coach counters with a three punch combo that has Jackson backing up. Jackson nods at Coach to acknowledge the strikes. Da Coach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Jackson. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Coach rushes Jackson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Jackson looking for a takedown. A battle for position here, against the cage. Jackson is trying to push Coach away but Coach has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jackson is looking to take this one to the mat. Jackson looks gassed! Jackson is trying to break the clinch but Coach has him pressed against the cage. Coach has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jackson regains guard immediately. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Coach decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coach catches Jackson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Coach has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.
Coach escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Coach moves out of range easily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A lazy left from Coach finds it's target. Jackson has his takedown stuffed and Coach counters with a straight right hand. Coach looking to score a takedown here. Jackson is defending well but Coach drives through and ends up in Jackson's guard. Coach gets to his feet - Jackson follows without any prompting. Coach scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Coach throws a right and a left that Jackson avoids nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Coach counters with a one-two to the body. Coach pushes Jackson up against the cage in a clinch. Jackson is trying to stall.
Coach is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jackson can't fight it off and eventually Coach manages to take the fight to the floor. Jackson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coach stands up from guard. Let's bang! Coach scores with a head kick.
It looks like Quinton Jackson has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Coach jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jackson is rocked! Coach connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Jackson to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Coach!
