Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ty Sagat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie De Smet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from De Smet misses. De Smet instigates a clinch. De Smet manages to break the clinch.
Sagat closes this distance looking for a takedown but De Smet circles away. Sagat fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Sagat is trying to push De Smet away but De Smet has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. De Smet manages to break the clinch.
De Smet darts in and clinches Sagat up against the cage. Sagat is trying to pull guard but De Smet has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ty Sagat. De Smet throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sagat really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. De Smet scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. De Smet throws a head kick that misses. Sagat is looking to clinch but De Smet is avoiding it.
Charlie De Smet is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sagat wants to clinch. Sagat tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. De Smet manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. De Smet wants to clinch. Sagat shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. De Smet dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sagat. That did some damage! De Smet tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Sagat wants to clinch but De Smet slips to the side and De Smet makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Sagat is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Sagat with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling De Smet to score with a decent uppercut. De Smet takes the fight into the clinch. Sagat fails to pull guard.

De Smet lands a jab-cross combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! De Smet lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Sagat takes a kick to the side of the head.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Sagat. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. De Smet's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and De Smet duly obliges. De Smet closes the distance and clinches. De Smet pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sagat wants to clinch up but De Smet keeps it at a distance. Ty Sagat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sagat gets tackled into the cage by De Smet. De Smet maintains the clinch. De Smet scores with a nice hook to the head. Sagat drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
De Smet pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! No joy there for De Smet, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
De Smet moves into the clinch. Sagat is trying to pull guard but De Smet turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie De Smet dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Charlie De Smet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as De Smet walks away with a smile on his face. Sagat gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Sagat moves in looking to clinch but De Smet pushes him off. De Smet has managed to clinch.

Sagat on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Charlie De Smet seems to be getting the better of the standup. De Smet will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

De Smet breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice body punch from De Smet. Sagat fails with an attempt to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. No joy there for De Smet, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
