The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in but Silvia avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Silvia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva loads up on a big right hand but Silvia slips the punch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Silvia connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.

Silva stands and steps away. Silvia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Caipira Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Silvia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silvia off to one side.
