Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sean Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Michael!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michael looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jackson is fending him off so far but Michael persists. Nope, Jackson circles away and we're back to standing.
Jackson scores with a leg kick.
Jackson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Jackson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Michael closes the distance and clinches.

Michael has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jackson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Jackson turns into Michael and is now in his guard.
Michael is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Michael has a closed guard, preventing Jackson from standing up.
Michael not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Michael kicks Jackson off and gets to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Michael throws a series of punches but Jackson avoids them all with ease.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackson tries to clinch

and Michael counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Michael.

Michael tightens his grip and picks Jackson up, before dumping him to the ground. Jackson manages to land in guard.
Michael slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Michael gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Michael thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Michael trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Michael drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Michael off! Michael jumps back into Jackson's guard.
Michael working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Jackson keeping moving, preventing Michael from controlling successfully.

Jackson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Michael rolls with it to try and escape but Jackson cranks on the arm and Michael is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sean Jackson!
During a confident post fight interview, Sean Jackson thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
