PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grisha Kamenow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Rombola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kamenow kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Linkin Park - Bleed It Out. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kamenow darts in and clinches Rombola up against the cage.
Rombola tries to break the clinch but Kamenow is controlling the position.
Rombola is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kamenow gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Kamenow fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rombola sprawls well initially but Kamenow persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rombola should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kamenow seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Kamenow is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Kamenow gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Kamenow gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Kamenow apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Rombola goes for a takedown attempt but Kamenow pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Rombola leaves Kamenow with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Grisha Kamenow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vince Rombola.

Rombola really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kamenow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kamenow swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kamenow is defended easily by Rombola.

Rombola wants to stand up but Kamenow has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Grisha Kamenow opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
