Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hanso Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephane Kohler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kohler has chosen 300 Violin Orchestra as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hanso Dos Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stephane Kohler!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kohler is looking to clinch.
Kohler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kohler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dos Santos was well out of range. Poor timing from Kohler.
Dos Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kohler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dos Santos is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Stephane Kohler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kohler looks to score with a jab to the body but Dos Santos is just out of range.

It looks like Hanso Dos Santos has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dos Santos looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dos Santos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kohler.

Kohler fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dos Santos sprawls well initially but Kohler persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Kohler is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Stephane Kohler has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Dos Santos gets caught napping as Kohler dives in and scores a takedown. Dos Santos manages to retain guard.
Kohler controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kohler tries to free his leg and advance position but Dos Santos is retaining full guard.
Kohler slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dos Santos is breathing heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Hanso Dos Santos just wasn't active enough.
Kohler throws a leg kick but Dos Santos moved away.

Kohler looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Dos Santos!

Let's hope that Kohler has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephane Kohler dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hanso Dos Santos's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Kohler closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kohler is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dos Santos to keep the fight standing.
Dos Santos trying to stall but Kohler improves his position.
Dos Santos using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kohler has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Stephane Kohler was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Dos Santos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kohler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kohler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dos Santos swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kohler's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Stephane Kohler wasn't active enough on the ground.
Dos Santos gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Kohler points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Dos Santos wakes up just in time to hear Kohler thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Stephane Kohler!
Stephane Kohler very nearly forgot to thank Blood Bank ($10) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
