Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lance Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarez De Ertu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jarez De Ertu is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lance Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jarez De Ertu!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Ertu looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Stevens!
De Ertu looking to control but Stevens is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
De Ertu might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Stevens kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
De Ertu lands a big shot there that rocks Stevens but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Stevens tries to lock up and control but De Ertu gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
De Ertu looking to control but Stevens is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Stevens is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Stevens might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

De Ertu prevents Stevens from getting the reversal.

Stevens tries to reverse the position but De Ertu maintains control.

De Ertu thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
De Ertu misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
De Ertu wants to control the pace but Stevens is squirming around nicely.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

De Ertu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Stevens tries to get to full guard but De Ertu has control of the leg.

De Ertu seems to be working for a kimura but Stevens defends the submission attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. De Ertu connects with a nice short shot to Stevens's temple.
De Ertu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

De Ertu is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Stevens has managed to free his arm - good work.

De Ertu drops back looking for a leg! Stevens is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stevens manages to kick De Ertu off! De Ertu jumps back into Stevens's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Ertu lands a couple of elbows.
De Ertu is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
De Ertu wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving.
De Ertu is looking to work some ground and pound but Stevens has wrist control.
De Ertu postures up and lands a big shot to Stevens's brow.

Stevens wants to stand and escape but De Ertu is having none of it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
De Ertu wants to pass the guard but Stevens is keeping the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A slow jab from Stevens misses its intended target.
De Ertu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stevens's waist but Stevens gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing De Ertu off to one side.

De Ertu lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
De Ertu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lance Stevens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jarez De Ertu.
De Ertu tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stevens swivels and escapes.
De Ertu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

De Ertu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stevens looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stevens is looking to reverse the position.
Stevens parries the strikes from De Ertu easily there. De Ertu is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stevens to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

De Ertu decides to stand back up. De Ertu steps back and let's Stevens get back to his feet.

Jarez De Ertu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

De Ertu unloads with some shots from mount but Stevens bucks and avoids them well.

De Ertu is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

De Ertu controlling the position well here. Stevens rolled but De Ertu kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

I would just about give that final round to Jarez De Ertu.
I've got De Ertu winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
