The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Numazawa lands with a right hand.
Good standup being displayed there by Numazawa as he connects with a hook.
Numazawa throws a series of punches but Penn avoids them all with ease.
Numazawa plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Penn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A nice combination there by Numazawa.
Numazawa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Penn.
Penn takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Penn tries a body shot but Numazawa blocks it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Penn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Numazawa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Numazawa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Penn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Numazawa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Penn has his foot on Numazawa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Numazawa works his way back into a safe position though.

Penn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Numazawa defends it easily.

Numazawa wants to get up but he can't break Penn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Penn has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Numazawa doesn't defend quickly enough and Penn has managed to lock this one up! Can Numazawa escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Penn on a fantastic submission victory.
