The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mullen looks to land a combination but Gracie Jr avoids it well.
Gracie Jr misses with a body shot.
Mullen with a lazy takedown attempt
and Gracie Jr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mullen won't be happy with that.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gracie Jr sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mullen is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Gracie Jr moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Gracie Jr working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Gracie Jr has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mullen is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Gracie Jr yanks on the arm and Mullen is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Gracie Jr.
