Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Atkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cox has chosen Lunatic Fringe as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Atkinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Cox! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox moves in looking to clinch but Atkinson pushes him off. Cox thows a body shot but no joy. Atkinson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cox. Cox obviously looking to wear him down.
Jab by Atkinson. Cox misses with a double jab.
Atkinson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Atkinson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Some bone on bone action there as Cox checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Atkinson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Atkinson but Atkinson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cox tries a head kick but it misses.
A clash of legs there as Atkinson blocks the low kick. Atkinson scores with a hook. Cox fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cox misses with a double jab
and Atkinson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Cox shoots in but no luck this time. Jack Atkinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Cox. Cox swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Atkinson counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Cox looks gassed! Cox looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Atkinson is fending him off so far but Cox persists. Nope, Atkinson circles away and we're back to standing. Atkinson misses with a body kick. Atkinson lands a slapping body shot.
Atkinson throws a sloppy head kick and Cox moves out of range easily. Atkinson works over Cox's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Ryan Cox has been cut. Atkinson misses with the combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Atkinson lands with a nice combination. Cox backs away looking to recover. Atkinson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cox backs up against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Atkinson misses with a low kick.
Atkinson checks a leg kick. A head kick misses from Atkinson. Cox shoots in for a double leg but Atkinson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Cox shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Atkinson as he jumps to the side. Jack Atkinson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cox looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Atkinson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cox is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Atkinson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Atkinson tries to get out of the position. Cox has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cox's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Atkinson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cox's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cox pulls Atkinson in close to prevent any damage. Cox manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cox throws a combination that misses and Atkinson counters with a two punch combo. Cox fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cox clinches but Atkinson breaks the clinch letting Atkinson counter with a right hand. Cox tries to close the distance and clinch but Atkinson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Atkinson misses with a series of wild punches.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cox fails with the takedown. Cox changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Atkinson tries to avoid it but Cox manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Atkinson to the ground. Atkinson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jack Atkinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Cox. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atkinson is looking to land body kicks. Horrible takedown by Cox or perhaps it was just good defense by Atkinson which made him look bad. Atkinson misses with a two punch combination.
Cox bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Cox looking to control but instead Atkinson has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Cox is stalling here. Atkinson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cox seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Atkinson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cox trying his best to control but Atkinson has mounted him. Cox regains half guard. Cox wants to improve his position but Atkinson is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cox looking to hit a scissor sweep but Atkinson is one step ahead there. Cox doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cox pulls Atkinson in to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Atkinson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cox is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cox is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Cox showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ryan Cox's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Cox counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Atkinson's guard now. Cox is looking to work some ground and pound but Atkinson has wrist control. Cox pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Atkinson is keeping the position for now. Cox passes Atkinson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cox is thwarting Atkinson's attempts to control the position. Cox prevents Atkinson from standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cox slows the pace down in half guard. Cox throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Cox is tying to control. Atkinson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Cox content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Despite being in the dominant position, Ryan Cox just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Atkinson scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Cox throws a left and a right that both miss
and Atkinson counters with a nice uppercut.

and Atkinson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Cox changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Atkinson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Cox taking a breather here. Sloppy strikes there by Cox. Cox misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cox decides to stand back up. Jack Atkinson is winning the standup battle so far. Cox shoots in looking for a takedown. Atkinson tries to sprawl out of it but Cox keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Atkinson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Atkinson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
