Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrzej Malolepszy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Bridgeport (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrzej Malolepszy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darren Bridgeport!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malolepszy shoots for a takedown but Bridgeport saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Malolepszy closes the distance and clinches up with Bridgeport, looking for a takedown. Malolepszy pushes Bridgeport against the cage but Bridgeport circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Malolepszy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bridgeport.
Bridgeport comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Malolepszy wants to clinch up but Bridgeport keeps it at a distance.
Malolepszy tries to close the distance and clinch but Bridgeport swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Malolepszy tries to clinch but Bridgeport is having none of it.
Bridgeport lands a jab.


It looks like Andrzej Malolepszy has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Malolepszy gets a double leg takedown into Bridgeport's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Malolepszy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Malolepszy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Malolepszy wants to control from the top but Bridgeport keeps moving.

Bridgeport looking to hit a scissor sweep but Malolepszy is one step ahead there.
Malolepszy stays in close to Bridgeport's body and controls the position.
Bridgeport keeping moving, preventing Malolepszy from controlling successfully.

Malolepszy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Malolepszy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Malolepszy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bridgeport can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Andrzej Malolepszy just wasn't active enough.
Malolepszy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bridgeport is fending him off so far but Malolepszy persists. Nope, Bridgeport circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrzej Malolepszy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bridgeport scores with a body shot.
Malolepszy is breathing heavily.
Malolepszy dives in and grabs Bridgeport's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bridgeport pushes down on Malolepszy's head and hops out.
Bridgeport wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Malolepszy with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bridgeport to score with a decent uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bridgeport moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Malolepszy goes down! Can Bridgeport finish him!?


Malolepszy is rocked!
Bridgeport stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Malolepszy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bridgeport would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Bridgeport must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bridgeport is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Malolepszy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Darren Bridgeport was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Bridgeport stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bridgeport wants it to stay on the feet.
Bridgeport with a body punch. A glancing blow.
A punch lands to the side of Malolepszy 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Bridgeport scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A combination from Bridgeport does no damage.
Andrzej Malolepszy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooh a lovely combination from Bridgeport sends Malolepszy down but not out. Bridgeport dives into side control looking to finish.
Oh Malolepszy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bridgeport controlling the position from side mount.
Malolepszy wants to control but Bridgeport postures up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bridgeport taking a breather here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darren Bridgeport dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Malolepszy on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Malolepszy seems to have got his legs back now.
Bridgeport ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Malolepszy has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Malolepszy there as he acknowledges the shot.
Malolepszy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Malolepszy takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


Malolepszy is rocked!
Malolepszy takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Oh Malolepszy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bridgeport fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Malolepszy to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Malolepszy looks to clinch but Bridgeport throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Malolepszy taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Darren Bridgeport!
