PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ed Gein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jima Jammy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ed Gein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jima Jammy!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jammy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gein.
Jammy throws a jab when Gein was well out of range.
Gein throws an overhand right that lands on Jammy's shoulder, as Jammy tries to avoid the shot.
Ed Gein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jammy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gein.
Jammy connects with a looping right hand.
Jammy connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jammy moves out of range of the strikes.
Gein misses with a straight left.
Jammy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice straight punches there by Gein. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gein.

Gein throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jammy sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jammy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Gein throws a lazy right hand but Jammy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jammy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jammy tries to land a leg kick but Gein saw it coming and moves away.
Jammy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gein.
A lazy left from Gein finds it's target.


It looks like Jima Jammy has been cut.
Gein throws a hook but Jammy blocks it.
Jammy moves out of range of the strikes.

Jammy wants to clinch.
Gein throws a hook but Jammy blocks it.
Gein cracks Jammy with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Gein misses with a looping left.
Gein is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Jammy closes the distance and clinches.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Jammy works a leg free and moves into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jammy lands a nice short elbow.
Jammy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jammy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gein with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jammy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gein manages to avoid it.
Gein connects with a body shot.
Jammy scores with a sloppy right hand. Gein should have avoided that one.
Gein looks to land a right hand but Jammy moved out of range.

Jammy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gein.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Gein.
Gein throws a good cross that connects.

and Jammy counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gein's knee momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jammy moves out of range as Gein strikes.
Jammy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gein is fending him off so far but Jammy persists. Nope, Gein circles away and we're back to standing.

Gein has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jammy is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jammy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gein is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jammy, into his guard.
Gein wants to control from the top but Jammy keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jima Jammy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Gein walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jammy checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Jammy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gein.

Jammy with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gein to score with a decent uppercut.

Gein is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jammy.
Jammy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Geins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Gein throws a shot from downtown. Jammy moves away and avoids it.
Gein lands a glancing blow to the side of Jammy's head.
Gein lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jammy circles away quickly and effectively.
Gein defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jammy.
Ed Gein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jima Jammy.
A telegraphed right hand from Jammy misses the target.

Jammy passes Gein's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jammy is nestled in close to Gein, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
