Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bob Gator! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Dragon! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dragon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick misses from Dragon. Gator misses with a wild body shot. Gator takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gator blocks a head kick by Dragon.
Gator is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Dragon plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Dragon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dragon tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Dragon throws a sloppy head kick and Gator moves out of range easily. Dragon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gator closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. This has been an exciting period of action! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Dragon is looking for a sweep. Dragon bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Dragon feints a jab promting Gator to slip. Dragon then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gator slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. A momentary lapse in concentration from Dragon enables Gator to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dragon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gator wants to pass the guard but Dragon is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dragon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gator defends well. Dragon looks gassed! Gator pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dragon is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gator with a nice head shot there. Gator postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Gator looking to pass the guard. Dragon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gator passes Dragon's left leg - he's now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dragon makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dragon. Dragon looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gator is defending well. Dragon quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gator has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Dragon celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
