Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Greg Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zero has chosen Countdown to Insanity - H-Blockx as his entrance music. Dave Zero will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Anderson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Zero! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson blocks the body kick.
Zero works Anderson's body with a nice hook. Anderson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Anderson lands with a punch from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zero is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Anderson trying to control from Zero's half guard. Zero has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Zero is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Anderson is controlling him. Anderson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Anderson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Anderson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Anderson pushes down on Zero's leg and manages to get into half guard. Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Zero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Anderson content to control rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zero is holding on to half guard well. Anderson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zero doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Anderson. Zero regains full guard. Nicely done. Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Zero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zero is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Anderson scoring with some ground and pound. Zero is trying to control the position but Anderson postures up. Zero manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Anderson manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Zero would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Zero preventing the sweep. Anderson wants to stand but Zero is controlling the position. Anderson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Anderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Anderson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Zero is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Anderson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Zero's back instead. Anderson lands a shot to the body. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anderson lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Anderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Zero is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from Anderson 's hooks. Anderson wants to finish this one by submission but Zero is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Anderson. Anderson is breathing heavily. Zero is looking to improve his position but Anderson isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson controlling the position easily from mount. A nice elbow there by Anderson. Zero is trying to escape the mount.
Anderson trying to control but Zero is having none of it. Zero regains half guard. Zero is pressing down on Anderson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Anderson throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zero trying to control the position.
Zero keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully. Anderson looking to sit in guard and control but Zero gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Anderson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Zero slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Zero is looking to control Anderson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Zero avoid being mounted? Anderson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Greg Anderson will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Zero throws a body punch but Anderson moves out of range. Anderson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Anderson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Zero pulls him back up using the underhooks. Zero tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Anderson's elbow. Zero lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Anderson has Zero pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zero manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Zero lands with a short shot to the head. A nice right hand lands inside from Zero. Anderson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Anderson shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zero takes the fight into the clinch. Anderson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Anderson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Zero avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Zero lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Anderson. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. With the fighters up against the cage, Zero throws an elbow but misses. Zero breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Zero scoring well with a low kick there.
Zero scores with a nice strike. Anderson takes a jab right on the kisser.
A head kick misses from Zero. Anderson clinches but Zero breaks the clinch and Zero counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Anderson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Zero wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving. Anderson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zero doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zero manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Zero sitting in guard, not really doing much. Anderson working for a triangle but Zero defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson wants to sweep but no luck. Anderson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Anderson is trying to keep Zero in close.
Anderson wants to hit a switch here but Zero passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Anderson there! Anderson gets back to half guard. Anderson missing with punches from the bottom.
Anderson wants to get back to full guard. Zero missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Zero trying to control the action but Anderson is working from the bottom. Anderson manages to get to full guard.
Zero in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Zero is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Zero throws a lazy right hand but Anderson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Zero tries to clinch up. Anderson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Zero connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Anderson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Zero looks to land a combination but Anderson avoids it well. Anderson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Zero is looking to reverse the position. Anderson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Zero sneaks back into half guard. Anderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zero with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Anderson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Zero tries to get to full guard but Anderson has control of the leg. Zero taking some punishment here, with Anderson in his half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Anderson is tying to control. Zero wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Zero wants to control but Anderson is keeping busy.

Dave Zero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action!
Anderson defending well as Zero loads up on a big left hand. Anderson fails with the takedown and Zero counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Dave Zero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Zero looks to land a body kick but Anderson moved away. Anderson scores with a takedown into Zero's guard. Zero working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Anderson. Zero wants to sweep but no luck. Anderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zero is keeping the position for now. Anderson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zero works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Greg Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Anderson trying to control but Zero is working from the bottom. Zero looking to hit a scissor sweep but Anderson is one step ahead there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Anderson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson works his way into side control. Anderson swings around for an armbar but Zero sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Anderson's guard. Anderson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Zero postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Anderson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Anderson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Anderson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Zero is rocked!
It looks like Dave Zero has been cut. Anderson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Zero's face.
Zero is still in real trouble! Can Anderson finish him? Anderson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Zero hang on? Anderson working the ground and pound effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Anderson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! A big strike lands for Anderson! That's really hurt Zero and he's turned his back - Anderson keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Anderson Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
