Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Helder Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donovan Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cruz comes to the cage accompanied by Vai Rivaldo sai desse lago. Donovan Henry will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Helder Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donovan Henry! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henry throws a lazy right hand but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Cruz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Henry drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Henry gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Henry shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cruz napping and manages to drive through into side control! Henry stands up. Henry fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cruz sprawls well initially but Henry persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Henry with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Henry is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cruz looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz is looking for a triangle but Henry pushes his legs off easily.
Henry throws a strike but Cruz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Henry wants to stand and escape but Cruz is having none of it. Cruz wants to control from the top but Henry keeps moving. Henry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Henry is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Henry decides to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Henry clinches. Henry has picked Cruz up - he's going for a ride! Henry dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Henry looks gassed! Henry is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cruz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Henry. Cruz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cruz wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Henry decides to stand up. Henry shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cruz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Cruz is working an open guard so Henry takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Cruz tries to clinch but Henry moves out of range. Henry slips a jab and a cross from Cruz.
Henry stuffs the takedown. Cruz defending well as Henry loads up on a big left hand. Henry avoids the head kick by Cruz.
Cruz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Henry won't allow Cruz to sweep him here. Henry postures up in Cruz's guard and throws a big left but Cruz blocks it. Cruz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Henry won't allow Cruz to sweep him here. Henry looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Henry preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Donovan Henry dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Henry drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Henry controls the position from side control. Henry working away. Cruz prevents Henry from moving into mount. Cruz dodges the ground and pound from Henry. Henry wants to control but Cruz is keeping him busy. Henry decides to stand back up. Henry is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henry lands a jab-cross combination. Henry dodges the punch combination from Cruz.
Henry feints and as Cruz raises his hands in defense, Henry changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cruz is on top in guard.
Henry seems keen to control Cruz's posture. Henry is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cruz defends well. Cruz trying to control the position from guard on top but Henry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz slips nicely into half guard. Cruz trying to control the action but Henry is working from the bottom. Henry trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Cruz manages to pass to mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Cruz throwing strikes here but Henry is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Donovan Henry has got the better of the ground game so far. Cruz tries to control but Henry wriggling away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Henry is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Donovan Henry showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Henry looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Henry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cruz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Henry is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Cruz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Henry defends it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cruz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz trying to control but Henry is having none of it. Henry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cruz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cruz looking to finish with strikes here!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Henry manages to regain half guard. Good work. Henry tries to get to full guard but Cruz has control of the leg. Henry is not content to let Cruz control the position. Cruz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Henry is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Cruz wants to get back to his feet.
Henry kicks Cruz off and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cruz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Henry gets a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Henry slows the pace down in half guard. Henry stands up and beckons Cruz to join him on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Henry shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Henry was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Cruz tries to hold on but Henry postures up. Cruz is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Henry working for a guillotine from mount but Cruz is in no mood to give up.
And that's the end of the fight! Donovan Henry comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Henry has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
