The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels throws a one two combo.
Masashi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Michaels as he avoids it easily.
Michaels dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Michaels cracks Masashi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Michaels scores with a one two! Masashi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Masashi looks to score with a jab to the body but Michaels is just out of range.
Masashi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Michaels defends it nicely.
Michaels fails to land with a series of punches.

Masashi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Masashi grinds an elbow into Michaels's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Masashi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Masashi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Masashi prevents Michaels from escaping the position.
Masashi is putting a hurting on Michaels here, landing some big shots from side control.
Masashi tries for a kimura but Michaels is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
