Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paddy Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phil DeBlunt!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fox feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to DeBlunt's calf.

DeBlunt tries to circle away but Fox has him pinned against the cage.
Fox is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables DeBlunt to keep the fight standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Fox manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. DeBlunt manages to get himself to full guard.

Fox is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

DeBlunt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fox does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Fox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has DeBlunt pinned against the cage. DeBlunt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

DeBlunt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
DeBlunt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fox circles away quickly and effectively.

Fox ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fox no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

DeBlunt lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. DeBlunt manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Fox connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
DeBlunt avoids the body shot from Fox.
DeBlunt lands a head shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paddy Fox.
Well Fox has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
