And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Benji Cheshire!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheshire tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scott swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Scott counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Scott has a takedown stuffed.
Cheshire looks to land a combination but Scott avoids it well.
Scott shoots in but no luck this time.
Scott avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Scott throws a series of punches but Cheshire avoids them all with ease.

and Scott counters with a takedown into side control.

Scott tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cheshire manages to get back to half guard.

Scott is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Scott is thwarting Cheshire's attempts to control the position.
Cheshire wants to get back to full guard but Scott has passed into side control.

Scott wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cheshire, who protects the arm well.
Cheshire tries to bench press Scott off him but Scott keeps the position.
Cheshire gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Cheshire tries to lock up and control but Scott gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cheshire has given up his back here.

Scott is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Cheshire manages to reverse the position and now he's in Scott's guard. Nice work there by Cheshire.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cheshire stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Scott has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Cheshire manages to get his head free but now Scott has transitioned to an armbar! Cheshire grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Scott! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ely Scott!
Our winner, Ely Scott, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
