Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joachim Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie McLeftout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joachim Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Donnie McLeftout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hansen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Hansen won't allow McLeftout to get back to his feet.
Hansen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
McLeftout looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hansen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hansen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McLeftout on the ground.
Hansen prevents McLeftout from getting back to his feet.
Hansen trying to control the position from guard on top but McLeftout is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McLeftout wants to sweep but no luck.

McLeftout is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hansen won't allow McLeftout to sweep him here.

Hansen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hansen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hansen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McLeftout wants to control but Hansen postures up.

Hansen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McLeftout, who protects the arm well.
Hansen is breathing heavily.

Check out the look on Hansen's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McLeftout is looking to reverse the position.
Hansen has knee on belly momentarily but McLeftout bucks him off and regains half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McLeftout tries a head kick but it misses.
McLeftout scores with a nice body kick.

McLeftout fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hansen, pushing him back against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for McLeftout.
McLeftout prevents a takedown attempt there.

McLeftout breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hansen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
McLeftout content to stall in guard here.
Hansen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hansen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McLeftout's head.
McLeftout is not content to let Hansen control the position.
Hansen passes the guard and advances to mount!
McLeftout is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McLeftout is squirming around, avoiding Hansen's attempts to control the action.

Hansen wants to take McLeftout's back but he can't do it this time.
Hansen working the ground and pound effectively.

Hansen moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, McLeftout has worked his arm free - good work by McLeftout!
Hansen wants to control but McLeftout is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hansen throws an elbow but McLeftout slips to the side and avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joachim Hansen will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hansen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Hansen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hansen moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
McLeftout is trying to improve his position.
McLeftout is not content to let Hansen control the position.
McLeftout managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hansen.
Hansen is looking to take a break and control but McLeftout is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hansen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McLeftout is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

McLeftout is trying to improve his position.
McLeftout is trying to escape the position but Hansen is controlling the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hansen tries for a takedown but McLeftout circles away easily
and McLeftout counters with a nice body kick.
McLeftout tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hansen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McLeftout goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Hansen takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hansen has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by McLeftout.
McLeftout fails in his attempt to clinch.

McLeftout closes the distance and clinches.

McLeftout pulls guard effortlessly.
McLeftout controls Hansen momentarily but Hansen frees himself.
McLeftout is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McLeftout seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hansen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hansen is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but McLeftout pulls his head out easily.

McLeftout stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hansen to get to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - McLeftout looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hansen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McLeftout but McLeftout pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hansen wants to control but McLeftout is having none of it.

Hansen is trying to keep McLeftout in close.

Hansen throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
McLeftout has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hansen is proving hard to escape from.

McLeftout decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hansen, up you get!
McLeftout gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hansen counters with a one-two to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donnie McLeftout showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


McLeftout is looking to clinch.
Horrible takedown by Hansen or perhaps it was just good defense by McLeftout which made him look bad.
McLeftout is looking to clinch but Hansen is avoiding it.
Joachim Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McLeftout shoots and misses

so Hansen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

McLeftout working for a triangle but Hansen defends it easily.
McLeftout looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hansen is one step ahead there.
McLeftout keeping moving, preventing Hansen from controlling successfully.
McLeftout striking off his back but it's not causing Hansen any problems.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hansen wants to control from the top but McLeftout keeps moving.
Hansen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hansen wants to control from the top but McLeftout keeps moving.

Hansen is pushing down on McLeftout's leg trying to pass to half guard. McLeftout is fighting to maintain full guard but Hansen has managed to sneak the leg through.

Hansen is trying to work for a kimura but McLeftout is defending well.
McLeftout avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hansen.
McLeftout is staying active underneath Hansen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hansen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

McLeftout is in trouble now - Hansen has advanced to mount!

Hansen get's back to his feet.
Hansen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hansen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hansen fails with the takedown

and McLeftout counters by moving into the clinch.
Hansen tries to pull guard but McLeftout won't allow it.

Hansen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hansen tries to clinch up.

Hansen moves into the clinch successfully.

Hansen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hansen looks for a takedown but McLeftout sprawls well.
Hansen misses with a combination

and McLeftout counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hansen won't be happy with that.
Hansen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Hansen tries to roll over but McLeftout keeps him under control.
McLeftout is pressing down on Hansen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hansen is holding on for now.
Hansen is pressing down on McLeftout's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joachim Hansen.
I think Hansen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
