Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Behnder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDonald has chosen Sounds of Silence as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Behnder tries to clinch up but McDonald circles away and keeps his distance.

and Behnder counters with a single leg into guard. McDonald didn't expect that.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McDonald controls Behnder momentarily but Behnder frees himself.

It looks like Marcus Behnder has been cut.
Behnder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDonald is fending him off so far but Behnder persists. Nope, McDonald circles away and we're back to standing.
McDonald bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

McDonald leaves Behnder with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

McDonald throws a sloppy head kick and Behnder moves out of range easily.
Behnder on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McDonald. McDonald obviously looking to wear him down.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Behnder tries to close the distance and clinch up but McDonald swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McDonald feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Behnder's calf.
McDonald pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McDonald fakes the leg kick and cracks Behnder in the body.
McDonald throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Behnder moves in looking to clinch but McDonald pushes him off.
Behnder is looking to clinch but McDonald is avoiding it.

McDonald connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Behnder looks for a takedown but McDonald sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Behnder. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McDonald feints and then cracks Behnder's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Behnder down.
McDonald looks to land a combination but Behnder avoids it well.
Behnder will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McDonald feints and then cracks Behnder's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Behnder down.

McDonald scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Behnder shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McDonald pinned against the cage. McDonald gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McDonald tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Behnder paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Behnder sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Marcus Behnder's cut is getting worse.
McDonald goes for a small jab and connects. Now McDonald goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Behnder stumbles back but McDonald runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Behnder to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Behnder will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mitch McDonald!
In his post fight interview, Mitch McDonald started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
