The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macdonald drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ricci is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That was a close round but I would say that Rory Macdonald will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Macdonald shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ricci's guard.
Ricci wants to get back to his feet but Macdonald is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ricci has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ricci and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
