Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chip Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Cosgrove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chip Douglas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shane Cosgrove! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Douglas looks for a takedown but Cosgrove sprawls well. Douglas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Cosgrove being controlled for a moment. Cosgrove is trying to buck Douglas off. Cosgrove defending against the ground and pound. Cosgrove is trying to improve his position. Douglas misses with the ground and pound. Douglas lands a few punches from side control. Douglas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cosgrove, who protects the arm well. Douglas in side control, throwing shots but Cosgrove defends.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cosgrove is looking for a sweep. Douglas throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Douglas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Douglas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Cosgrove is trying to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Douglas lands a decent elbow from side control. Douglas scoring with punches from side control. Cosgrove taking punishment in the form of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cosgrove takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Cosgrove tries to improve position but can't. Douglas wants to control but Cosgrove is keeping him busy. Douglas lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cosgrove down.
Douglas lands a nice forearm strike. Cosgrove struggling a bit here. Cosgrove takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Cosgrove really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Douglas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Douglas landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Cosgrove tries to get back to half guard but can't. Douglas is working Cosgrove over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Douglas landing strikes. Douglas wants to control but Cosgrove is keeping him busy. Douglas lands some shots froms side control. Douglas is staying tight to Cosgrove's torso, preventing him from escaping. Cosgrove is looking for a sweep. Douglas tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Douglas working the head and body with strikes. Douglas wants to control but Cosgrove is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Douglas creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cosgrove can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Douglas lands a decent elbow from side control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cosgrove tries to get back to half guard but can't. Douglas working the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chip Douglas dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Cosgrove stuffs the takedown. Douglas dives in and grabs Cosgrove's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cosgrove pushes down on Douglas's head and hops out. Douglas looking to score a takedown here. Cosgrove is defending well but Douglas drives through and ends up in Cosgrove's guard. Douglas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Douglas scoring with some ground and pound. Cosgrove has momentary wrist control but Douglas slips an elbow through the middle. Douglas passes Cosgrove's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Cosgrove is staying active underneath Douglas, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Douglas looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Douglas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cosgrove can do to turn this around? Douglas sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cosgrove defending well though. Douglas working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Douglas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Douglas looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Douglas is looking for a kimura but Cosgrove is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Douglas to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas is keen to just control but Cosgrove is a slippery customer. Douglas missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Douglas works his foot free and advances to mount. Cosgrove defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Douglas. Douglas lands a big elbow. Douglas wants to control the pace but Cosgrove is squirming around nicely. Douglas controlling from the full mount. Chip Douglas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Douglas has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Douglas has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cosgrove's face.
Cosgrove tries to hold on but Douglas pushes him away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Douglas lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Douglas trying to control but he's not successful this time. Douglas lands with some strikes. Douglas punishing his opponent with strikes. Cosgrove tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Douglas content just to control the position here. Douglas unloading with bombs!
It looks like Shane Cosgrove has been cut. Cosgrove is breathing heavily. Douglas landing strikes from the mount. Douglas lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Cosgrove can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cosgrove is in a horrible position here. Douglas smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Cosgrove is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Douglas looking to control and managing it successfully. Cosgrove is still in real trouble! Can Douglas finish him? Douglas looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Cosgrove covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
