Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Kilkenny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grant comes to the cage accompanied by Beanie (Mack B****). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 27 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dwight Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lance Kilkenny!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kilkenny tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Grant manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kilkenny looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Grant fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kilkenny avoids it really well and circles away.
Grant will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dwight Grant. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Grant shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kilkenny as he avoids it easily.
Grant misses with a takedown attempt
and Kilkenny counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Grant closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kilkenny quickly recovers to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Grant in particular looking to stall.
Kilkenny keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Grant wants to work for an arm triangle but Kilkenny is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Grant controlling the action here.

Grant tries to pass to full mount but Kilkenny defends it.

Grant looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kilkenny is trying to stand up here but Grant is controlling him well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grant throws a strike but Kilkenny avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Kilkenny keeping moving, preventing Grant from controlling successfully.
Grant throws a strike but Kilkenny rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Kilkenny wants to stand but Grant has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Grant is trying to keep Kilkenny in close.
Grant wants to sweep but no luck.

Grant pushes a forearm under Kilkenny's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Kilkenny is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
