Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Malcomn Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Malcomn Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Diaz! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown wants to clinch. A nice combination there by Diaz.
Diaz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brown wants to clinch up but Diaz keeps it at a distance. Diaz misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brown.
Brown fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Diaz sprawls well initially but Brown persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Diaz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brown's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brown's back! Diaz is trying to stick to Brown's back but Brown is turning into Diaz. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Diaz's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Brown. Diaz lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Brown! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brown keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brown is looking to get to half guard. Diaz trying to control but Brown is having none of it. Brown tries to reverse the position but Diaz maintains control. Diaz has control of Brown's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Brown regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Brown wants to hold on but Diaz pushes him away. Brown is desperately trying to improve his position but Diaz has a good base and remains in mount. Diaz controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Brown to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brown shrugs it off. Brown keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Brown is working hard here to advance position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz looking to secure an arm triangle but Brown defends it well. Brown is looking to improve his position but Diaz isn't that keen on the idea. Brown is squirming around, avoiding Diaz's attempts to control the action. Diaz controlling the position easily from mount. Diaz working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Brown keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown tries to get back to half guard but can't. Diaz wants to control the pace but Brown is squirming around nicely. Diaz is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Diaz with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Diaz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Brown is surviving well by controlling Diaz's body position as best he can. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Brown is now in Diaz's guard. A big mistake from Diaz there, giving up the dominant position! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Diaz dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Brown fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Diaz to the ground. Brown is now in Diaz's guard. Brown drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Diaz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Brown has Diaz in his guard. Brown keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. Diaz passes Brown's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Brown moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brown looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Diaz passes into side control.
Diaz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Brown knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Brown is looking to reverse the position. Diaz has an Americana. Brown didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Diaz is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Diaz hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nick Diaz! Nick Diaz decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
