Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Howard Langston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Blodell!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blodell shoots in looking for a takedown. Langston tries to sprawl out of it but Blodell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Langston manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Blodell checks the leg kick.
Blodell closes the distance and clinches up with Langston, looking for a takedown. Blodell pushes Langston against the cage but Langston circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Blodell fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Howard Langston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Blodell.
Langston throws a shot to the body.
Blodell has a takedown stuffed.
Blodell should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Blodell looks gassed!
Blodell shoots for a double leg takedown but Langston sprawls well. He's pushed Blodell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Langston throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Langston drops his shoulder and cracks Blodell with a huge uppercut! Blodell goes down! Can Langston finish him?
It looks like Chuck Blodell has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Langston landing with the ground and pound.
Blodell tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Langston is in close to Blodell's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Blodell is rocked!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Langston's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Blodell is still in real trouble! Can Langston finish him?
Langston postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Blodell covers up, he's hurt! Langston keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Langston and the ref steps in to end the fight! Langston can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Howard Langston!
