Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edwin De Jesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Moscow Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black has chosen Sektor Gaza - Dopilsya as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edwin De Jesus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Moscow Black!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Eddie Farnsworth and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Black looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Black.

De Jesus drives through with a takedown into Black's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
De Jesus looking to sit in guard and control but Black gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Black postures up.
Black wants to stand but De Jesus is controlling his posture from full guard.
De Jesus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Black slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from De Jesus.
Black is looking to take a break and control but De Jesus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Black thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed De Jesus's head.
De Jesus avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Black.
De Jesus has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Black is working away from the top position though.
De Jesus tries to kick Black off but Black keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Black seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but De Jesus does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
De Jesus tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

De Jesus kicks Black off and gets back to his feet.

Black keeping moving, preventing De Jesus from controlling successfully.
De Jesus is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Black is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Black is adopting a defensive guard.
Black wants to get back to his feet but De Jesus passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. De Jesus connects with a nice short shot to Black's temple.

Black is not content to let De Jesus control the position.
Black tries to roll over but De Jesus keeps him under control.
De Jesus is controlling the pace.
De Jesus has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Black is pressing down on De Jesus's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
De Jesus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Black swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Edwin De Jesus just wasn't active enough.

De Jesus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than De Jesus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Black is trying to stand up.

De Jesus jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Black is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Black and De Jesus has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

De Jesus tries for a kimura but Black is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Black manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edwin De Jesus dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


De Jesus throws a sloppy head kick and Black moves out of range easily.
De Jesus misses with a takedown attempt - Black sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
De Jesus dodges the punch combination from Black.
De Jesus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Black keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from De Jesus.

De Jesus drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Black has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes De Jesus off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Black shoots in looking for a takedown. De Jesus tries to sprawl out of it but Black keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. De Jesus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fight stays on the outside here - Black looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Black tries to clinch but De Jesus is having none of it.
De Jesus misses with a takedown attempt - Black sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edwin De Jesus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Jesus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Black throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Black moves in looking to clinch but De Jesus pushes him off.

De Jesus fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Black avoids it really well and circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from De Jesus.

De Jesus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and De Jesus wants it to stay on the feet.
De Jesus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
De Jesus throws a push kick but Black slaps the foot to one side.
De Jesus shoots in for a double leg but Black sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Black shoots for a double leg takedown but De Jesus sprawls well. He's pushed Black's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from De Jesus.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



De Jesus shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Black napping and manages to drive through into side control!
De Jesus works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
De Jesus tries to advance to mount but Black denies him.
Black wants to control but De Jesus postures up.
Black is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
De Jesus staying calm.
De Jesus gets to mount! Black was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Black manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Jesus looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
De Jesus is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Black tries to get to full guard but De Jesus has control of the leg.

De Jesus stands up from half guard.
Black takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Black rushes De Jesus and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
De Jesus tries for a takedown. No joy.
De Jesus is trying to force a seperation but Black has the dominant position.

De Jesus turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Black tries to bench press De Jesus off him but De Jesus keeps the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
De Jesus working away.
Black wants to get back to his feet but De Jesus drags him back down.
De Jesus takes a little break here. Black wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

De Jesus has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Edwin De Jesus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Black moves to clinch but De Jesus breaks away

and De Jesus counters with a nice double leg into guard.

De Jesus stands up from Black's guard - De Jesus perhaps looking for a knockout.
Black wants to clinch up but De Jesus keeps it at a distance.
Black doesn't manage to clinch there - De Jesus circles away.
De Jesus shoots in for a takedown but Black shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Moscow Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

De Jesus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Black lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Black tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. De Jesus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and De Jesus counters with a nice double leg into side control. Black won't be happy with that.
De Jesus looking to control but instead Black has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Edwin De Jesus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
De Jesus is pressing down on Black's thigh, looking to free his foot. Black is holding on for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
