Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niko Pekovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Tarav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pekovic tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pekovic shoots in looking for a takedown but Tarav manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pekovic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tarav pushes Pekovic up against the cage in a clinch.
Pekovic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pekovic is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pekovic tries to clinch there but Tarav circles away.
Pekovic is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tarav's half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Tarav keeping control of the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pekovic connects with a nice short shot to Tarav's temple.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pekovic is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Tarav tries to roll over but Pekovic keeps him under control.
Tarav has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pekovic is working away from the top position though.

Pekovic throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Tarav to regain full guard.
Tarav wants to stand but Pekovic is controlling the position.

Tarav is trying to keep Pekovic in close.
Tarav manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pekovic is squirming around, avoiding Tarav's attempts to control the action.

Tarav throws some wild stikes that Pekovic manages to avoid easily.
Tarav looking to ground and pound but Pekovic is blocking nicely.

Tarav tries to control but Pekovic wriggling away.

Tarav can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pekovic is looking to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Martin Tarav.
Tarav shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tarav showed some decent athleticism there.
Pekovic wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Martin Tarav will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pekovic fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Tarav looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pekovic moves into the clinch successfully.
Tarav stalling in the clinch but Pekovic improves position.

Tarav wants to break free but Pekovic has control.

Tarav has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pekovic is proving hard to escape from.
Tarav looking to sit in guard and control but Pekovic gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Pekovic scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Pekovic postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Tarav trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Pekovic not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Pekovic distracts Tarav with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tarav bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pekovic's guard.
Tarav really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pekovic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pekovic gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tarav tries for a takedown. No joy.
Pekovic misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tarav has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pekovic is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Niko Pekovic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Tarav.
Pekovic lands a knee to the body.
Tarav is breathing heavily.
Pekovic decides to pull guard.
Pekovic manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Pekovic lands with some strikes.

It looks like Martin Tarav has been cut.

Pekovic postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Tarav is out cold - huge knockout for Pekovic!

Niko Pekovic decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
