Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Emperador Grandy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sander Eastbrook! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grandy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Eastbrook. Grandy lands a nice leg kick that just misses Eastbrook's sensitive parts. Eastbrook shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grandy sprawls well. Grandy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eastbrook gets slowly back to his feet. Eastbrook fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Grandy to the ground. Eastbrook is now in Grandy's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Eastbrook postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Grandy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Eastbrook throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Grandy works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Grandy looking for a sweep. Not yet Grandy, not yet. Eastbrook postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Grandy is looking to sweep but instead, Eastbrook has passed into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Eastbrook is controlling the pace.
Eastbrook seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eastbrook is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Eastbrook stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Eastbrook drops an elbow to the side of Grandy's head. Grandy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Grandy tries to get out of the position. Grandy wants to get back to full guard. Eastbrook working the head and body with strikes. Eastbrook slips a nice elbow through Grandy's hands, connecting with Grandy's forehead. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Eastbrook connects with a nice short shot to Grandy's temple. This has been an exciting period of action! Eastbrook thows a huge punch but Grandy dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grandy wants to get back to full guard. Eastbrook maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Grandy could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Eastbrook has cracked it and Grandy is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Eastbrook!
