The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Margules swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Heggs takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Margules shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Heggs is trying to defend but Margules finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Margules trying to control from Heggs's half guard. Heggs has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Margules pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Heggs is keeping the position for now.
Heggs keeping moving, preventing Margules from controlling successfully.
Heggs pulls Margules in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Margules tries to free his leg and advance position but Heggs is retaining full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Margules punishes Heggs's body with a nice straight punch.
Heggs ducks under a wild hook from Margules.
Margules tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heggs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Margules somewhat.

Margules shoots in but Heggs avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Margules misses with a straight left.
Luther Heggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Margules tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Heggs connects with a right hand. Margules shakes it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Margules tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Heggs was well out of range. Poor timing from Margules.
Heggs scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Margules looks winded!

Oooooh!!! Heggs has knocked Margules down with a huge combo! Heggs steps away and waves a wobbly Margules back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Helio Margules has been cut.

Heggs throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Heggs drops Margules with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Margules looks back up at him and smiles so Heggs waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Heggs tries to clinch but Margules is having none of it.
Margules misses with a straight left.
Margules closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Heggs drops Margules with a beautiful combination! Margules stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Heggs is looking for the KO!

Margules is rocked!
Heggs circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Margules to the canvas! Margules doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Heggs keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

A relieved looking Luther Heggs thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
