Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khal Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Alvares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drago's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, We Steady Mobbin!. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Khal Drago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Santiago Alvares!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago tries to close the distance and clinch but Alvares swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Drago. No joy for Alvares on that attempt.

Alvares changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Drago looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Drago sneaks back into half guard.

Drago has one foot on Alvares's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Alvares fails to land the takedown.
Alvares gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Drago counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Khal Drago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santiago Alvares.
Alvares shoots in for a double leg but Drago sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A combination from Drago does no damage.
Santiago Alvares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drago tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alvares paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Alvares has his takedown stuffed
enabling Drago to counter with a crisp jab.
Alvares looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Alvares.
Alvares takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Drago gets a clinch.

Drago breaks from the clinch.
Khal Drago is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alvares is trying hard to land a takedown here. Drago sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Drago is looking to clinch but Alvares is avoiding it.
Alvares with a poor takedown
and Drago counters with a two punch combo.
Drago tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Alvares avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Alvares tries for a takedown but Drago circles away easily
and Drago counters with a one-two to the body.

Drago has Alvares up against the cage in a clinch.

Drago breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alvares shoots and misses
and Drago cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Drago scores with a nice head shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fight stays on the outside here - Drago looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Alvares gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Drago counters with a three punch combo that has Alvares backing up. Alvares nods at Drago to acknowledge the strikes.
Drago feints a jab promting Alvares to slip. Drago then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Alvares slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alvares misses with a takedown attempt
and Drago counters with a two punch combo.

Drago clinches.

Drago escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Drago instigates a clinch.

Drago pulls Alvares into guard.
Drago controls Alvares momentarily but Alvares frees himself.
Drago looking for a sweep. Not yet Drago, not yet.
Drago with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Alvares can't handle though.
Alvares working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Drago lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alvares!
Drago with shots to the head and body - Alvares looks very uncomfortable down there.
Drago fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


It looks like Santiago Alvares has been cut.
Drago tries to control but Alvares wriggling away.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Drago working away from the top, dropping strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alvares taking shots to the head.


Alvares is rocked!


That has opened up Santiago Alvares's cut even more.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Drago! Alvares is hurt baaadly! Drago is firing away with more strikes - Alvares is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Khal Drago!
