Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aiden Preston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Preston is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: A Star. Aiden Preston has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobby Baker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aiden Preston! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Baker or perhaps it was just good defense by Preston which made him look bad. Preston tries to sprawl but Baker drives through with a takedown into half guard. Baker wants to pass to mount but Preston is defending the position. Baker is trying to work for a kimura but Preston is defending well.
Preston won't allow Baker to pass to mount. Baker is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Baker tries to pass to full mount but Preston defends it. Preston is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Preston to get to his feet. Baker shoots in and bounces Preston off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Baker looking to pass the guard. Baker throwing strikes from guard but Preston blocks nicely. Preston wants to stand up but Baker is controlling him. Baker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Baker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Preston is keeping the position for now. Baker trying to control but Preston is working from the bottom. Baker prevents Preston from getting back to his feet. Preston manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Preston keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Preston fails with an attempt to clinch.
Baker tries to score a power double leg takedown but Preston sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Baker somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Baker. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Baker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Preston but Preston pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Preston creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Preston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Preston is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Preston slaps away a takedown attempt from Baker, before circling back to the center of the mat. Preston fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Preston tries to avoid it but Baker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Preston to the ground. Preston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Aiden Preston is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Baker throws a one two combo.
Baker is breathing heavily. Baker scores with a head kick. Preston tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Preston tries to clinch up but Baker circles away and keeps his distance. Preston stuffs the takedown attempt from Baker. Baker gets slowly back to his feet. Baker swats away the attempt to clinch by Preston. Excellent takedown into side control there by Baker. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Preston wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Baker working the strikes but Preston uses the opportunity to regain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Preston tries to close the distance and clinch but Baker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Baker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Preston! Baker jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Preston manages to avoid the submission attempt. Preston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Baker looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Baker has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Preston tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Baker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Preston gets in close and instigates a clinch. Baker wants the takedown. Preston is fighting it off but Baker persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Preston's guard against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Baker wants to pass the guard but Preston is keeping the position. Baker won't allow Preston to get back to his feet. Baker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Baker tries to pass the half guard into mount. Preston knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Baker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Preston won't allow Baker to pass to mount. Baker not landing any meaningful shots this time. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Baker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Preston with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Baker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Preston does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Baker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Baker is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Baker is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Preston has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Preston is trying to stand up here but Baker is controlling him well. Baker uses his free foot to push down on Preston's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Preston. Baker looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The referee warns Preston that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Baker looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Baker is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Preston has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Preston!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baker seems keen to control Preston's posture. Preston must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Preston wants to stand but Baker has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Preston got a little sloppy there for a moment and Baker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Preston has managed to get both his arms back between Baker's legs - danger averted. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Preston tries to stand but Baker is controlling from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baker looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Baker tries a low kick but Preston avoids it. Preston tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Baker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Baker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nice sprawl there from Preston as Baker shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Baker. Preston's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Baker throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Preston has his hands clasped together but Baker breaks the hold and Preston is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Baker!
