Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adriano Da Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua comes to the ring accompanied by Roy Jones - Can't be touched . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mauricio Rua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Adriano Da Costa! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Da Costa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rua shoots in looking for a takedown but Da Costa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rua's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Da Costa looks to clinch and Rua counters with a head kick that drops Da Costa - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Rua is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Da Costa is just riding it out for now. Rua eventually gives up the hold. Rua wants to pass to mount but Da Costa is defending the position. Rua is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Da Costa defends it well. Rua is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Da Costa sees it coming and defends easily. Rua throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rua is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Da Costa!
That's one minute gone in the round. Da Costa tries to hold on but Rua pushes him away. Da Costa has given up his back.
Rua patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Da Costa just trying to survive but Rua is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Rua looking for the choke from the back. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rua patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Rua has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Da Costa has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Rua has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Da Costa is defending well but eventually Rua manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Da Costa has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mauricio Rua! During a confident post fight interview, Mauricio Rua thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
