PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Burnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan has chosen Hulkamania as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Steven Burnett had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Burnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Hogan !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Burnett with that takedown attempt.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Hogan is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Burnett to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Burnett shrugs it off.

Burnett pushes Hogan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hogan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Hogan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burnett knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hogan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Burnett sprawls well. Burnett wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hogan gets slowly back to his feet.

Burnett closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Burnett lands in his opponent's guard.

Burnett throws a strike but Hogan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hogan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hogan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Burnett wants to stand up but Hogan is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hulk Hogan dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Burnett throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hogan was covering up waiting for the punch and Burnett finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Burnett lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hogan circles away quickly and effectively.
Steven Burnett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Burnett shoots in for a double leg but Hogan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Burnett. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hogan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Burnett's waist but Burnett gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hogan off to one side.

Hogan is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Steven Burnett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Burnett tries to score with some ground and pound. Hogan controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Burnett looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hogan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Burnett's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
