Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bill Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amun Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Compton comes into the arena with Granville Bowlin - Wild Bill blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amun Ra!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Compton throws out a loose jab but Ra uses good head movement to avoid it.
Compton displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ra.
Ra ducks under a wild hook from Compton.
Ra looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Compton is fending him off so far but Ra persists. Nope, Compton circles away and we're back to standing.

Ra shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ra connects with a nice short shot to Compton's temple.

Ra is looking to advance position but Compton has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Compton lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ra tries to reverse the position but Compton maintains control.
Ra tries to lock up and control but Compton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ra is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Amun Ra dominated that round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Compton pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ra is out of range and Compton settles back down.
Compton pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ra back to the cage. Compton follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Ra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Compton avoids it really well and circles away.

Compton walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ra checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Bill Compton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amun Ra.

Ra throws a strike but Compton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ra is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ra seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Compton wants to control from the top but Ra keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ra takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Compton lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Compton thumps Ra with a low kick.
Compton throws a nice inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ra stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Compton.
Compton throws a series of punches but Ra moves out of range.

Compton takes one to the side of the head.
Ra closes the distance and clinches up with Compton, looking for a takedown. Ra pushes Compton against the cage but Compton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Compton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Amun Ra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Compton scores with a kick to the body.
Ra shoots for a double leg takedown but Compton sprawls well. He's pushed Ra's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ra wants to take the fight to the mat but Compton manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Compton lands with a right to the head.
Compton crunches a lovely knee into Ra's ribcage.
Ra is breathing heavily.
Compton lands an elbow that stopped Ra in his tracks for a moment.
Compton lands a hook that snaps the head of Ra backwards.
Ra changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Compton fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Compton uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ra has time to react.


Ra is rocked!
Ra leaves his chin hanging out and Compton seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Ra crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bill Compton!
