The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgillicutty fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ford looking to score a takedown here. Mcgillicutty is defending well but Ford drives through and ends up in Mcgillicutty's guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Ford tries to close the distance and clinch but Mcgillicutty swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mcgillicutty misses with a hook.
Ford doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ford looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mcgillicutty misses with a two punch combination.
Mcgillicutty swats away the attempt to clinch by Ford.

Mcgillicutty goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Ford takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Mcgillicutty has cracked Ford with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Mcgillicutty lands another huge swinging hook and Ford tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Ford, before Mcgillicutty can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jack Mcgillicutty!
After the fight, Jack Mcgillicutty was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
