The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vancan stuffs the takedown.
Raider Vancan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rua tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vancan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rua somewhat.

Rua has his foot on Vancan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vancan works his way back into a safe position though.

Vancan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Vancan lands a big elbow - Rua is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Vancan!
