Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Azad - Bandog. Ruiz is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by jukebox hero. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ruiz sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Bronko Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ruiz sprawls well. Ruiz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
