Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Magus Arbenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathers has chosen Anthem of Kings as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Magus Arbenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marshall Mathers!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathers just misses with a punch to the body.
Arbenson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mathers paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Mathers.
Mathers misses with a double jab.
Mathers throws a head kick but Arbenson moves out of range.
Mathers swats away the attempt to clinch by Arbenson.
Arbenson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mathers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mathers misses with a series of wild punches.
Arbenson tries to clinch up but Mathers circles away and keeps his distance.
Marshall Mathers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good exchange - Mathers coming out on top.
Arbenson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mathers throws a right hand that Arbenson ducks under and follows up with a left that Arbenson also avoids with ease.
Mathers dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Mathers misses with a hook to the body
and Arbenson counters with a stiff right hand.

Arbenson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mathers, pushing him back against the cage.

Mathers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mathers lands the left hand.
Marshall Mathers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mathers enables Arbenson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mathers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mathers can do anything to dispel that myth.
Arbenson trying to control but Mathers is working from the bottom.
Mathers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Arbenson trying to control the position from guard on top but Mathers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mathers misses with a wild body shot.
Arbenson tries to clinch up.
Mathers scores with a head kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mathers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Arbenson manages to avoid it.
Arbenson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Arbenson scores with a head kick. Mathers tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Mathers feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Arbenson's calf.

Mathers lands a big head kick that sends Arbenson tumbling to the mat! Mathers takes a step backwards and waves Arbenson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Mathers stuffs the takedown.

Arbenson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mathers, pushing him back against the cage.
Arbenson has Mathers pressed against the cage, preventing Mathers from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Mathers blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Mathers is trying to break free.
Arbenson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Arbenson with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Arbenson tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Arbenson tries a knee to the head but Mathers blocks it.
Arbenson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mathers is defending well for now.
Arbenson is breathing heavily.

Mathers breaks the clinch.
Arbenson takes one to the side of the head.
Mathers lands a nice shot to the body.

Arbenson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mathers throws a combination that misses
and Arbenson counters with a stiff right hand.
Mathers lands a lovely overhand right.

Mathers lands a big head kick that sends Arbenson tumbling to the mat! Mathers takes a step backwards and waves Arbenson back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Arbenson is rocked!
Arbenson circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Mathers. Arbenson falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Mathers!
