PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Adam Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arjay Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murphy is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Feel the Rush. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kane keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Murphy lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Kane looks for a takedown but Murphy sprawls well.

Kane clinches up with Murphy and pushes him back against the cage.
Murphy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kane escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kane really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A combination from Murphy does no damage.
Murphy throws a right hand that Kane ducks under and follows up with a left that Kane also avoids with ease.
Murphy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Murphy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kane can pounce on him.
Kane looks for a takedown but Murphy sprawls well.

Kane closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Murphy to the mat! Murphy manages to get full guard.

Kane escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Murphy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Murphy tries to free his leg and advance position but Kane is retaining full guard.
Murphy passes Kane's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Murphy wants to control but Kane is keeping him busy.
Kane tries to roll over but Murphy keeps him under control.

Murphy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
You can see the frustration on Kane's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Kane is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kane turns into Murphy and is now in his guard.
Kane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Kane has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Murphy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kane shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kane was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kane in particular looking to stall.

Kane has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Murphy wants to hold on but Kane pushes him away.
Kane can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Murphy is looking to escape.
Murphy slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Arjay Murphy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Murphy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kane stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
An inside leg kick lands from Kane.

Murphy scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Murphy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Kane changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Murphy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kane swings around for an armbar but Murphy sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kane's guard.

Kane throws his legs up looking for a submission but Murphy uses it to pass to side control.
Kane tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Murphy presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Kane can't escape the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Murphy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Kane manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Murphy manages to get himself to full guard.
