The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The East uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hong.
The East lands with a hook. Hong tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from The East is defended easily by Hong.
Hong walks into a jab.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Hong.
Hong throws a jab but it's blocked by The East.
The East avoids the head kick by Hong.
The East lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The East takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

The East is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hong fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. The East looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nichi Hong dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The East shoots for a takedown but Hong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hong uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from The East.
Hong comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Nichi Hong seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hong throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by The East.

Hong lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The East is rocked!
The East misses with a low kick.

The East takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Oh The East is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hong lands a big head kick that sends The East tumbling to the mat! Hong takes a step backwards and waves The East back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hong fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops The East to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! The East looks to clinch but Hong throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! The East taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Nichi Hong!
After winning the bout, Nichi Hong thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
