Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bert Ernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Silverton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Silverton's choice of entrance music: Seven. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 11 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Joey Silverton!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silverton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Silverton throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ernie on the side of the head.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ernie is defended easily by Silverton.
Ernie looks to score with a jab to the body but Silverton is just out of range.

and Ernie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ernie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silverton on the ground.

Silverton looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Ernie can't do much from the bottom here.

Ernie is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Silverton off and has taken his back!
Silverton is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Ernie goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Silverton escapes and is now in half guard on top.
Ernie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silverton is working away from the top position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ernie pushes Silverton off but Silverton dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joey Silverton will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ernie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silverton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ernie's hands.

Silverton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ernie is fending him off so far but Silverton persists. Nope, Ernie circles away and we're back to standing.
Silverton slaps away a takedown attempt from Ernie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bert Ernie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silverton moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Ernie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silverton pinned against the cage. Silverton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ernie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Silverton throws a big shot that misses.
Ernie tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Silverton counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Ernie shoots in for a takedown but Silverton shows good takedown defense.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ernie.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ernie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Silverton.

Silverton looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ernie!
Ernie can't escape the position.
Silverton content just to control the position here.

Silverton has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ernie has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ernie just trying to survive but Silverton is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Ernie looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Ernie is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Joey Silverton has got the better of the ground game so far.
Silverton scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Ernie is looking for a way out.
Ernie rolls, trying to escape but Silverton keeps control of the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
