9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cyborg Santos! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Igo misses with a straight right. Igo fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Igo looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Santos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Igo. Santos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Igo.
Liam Igo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Igo moves to clinch but Santos breaks away and Santos counters with a right hand to the body. Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Igo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Santos circles away. Liam Igo dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Igo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Santos cracks Igo with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Liam Igo has been cut. Nice defenses there by Igo. Igo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Santos trying to control but Igo postures up.
Igo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Igo seems to be looking for submissions.
