The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Renato throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Makinwa counters with a slapping leg kick.
Renato throws a hook to the side of Makinwa's head but Makinwa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Renato throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Renato takes one to the chin there.
Renato shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Makinwa defends it nicely.
Decent striking displayed by Makinwa there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A jab from Renato misses.
Renato throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Makinwa with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Renato to score with a decent uppercut.
Makinwa lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Renato backs up against the cage.
Renato fails with the takedown.
Makinwa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Renato.

Makinwa misses with a wild body shot.
Renato looks to land a left hand but Makinwa moved out of range nicely.
No luck for Renato with that takedown attempt.

and Makinwa scores with a counter punch that sends Renato to the canvas! Makinwa smells blood - he's punishing Renato with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Renato has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
