Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Maldini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Maldini! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Faria! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maldini closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Faria's guard. Maldini wants to pass the guard but Faria is keeping the position. Maldini controlling from the top position. Maldini drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maldini jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maldini accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Maldini loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Maldini pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Faria is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maldini trying to control the position from guard on top but Faria is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Maldini has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Maldini throws a big right hand that misses. Maldini stops Faria from standing up. Maldini throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Maldini's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faria wants to stand and escape but Maldini is having none of it. Maldini chips away with some ground and pound. Faria is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maldini is controlling him. Maldini passes Faria's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Faria really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maldini. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Faria keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Maldini thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Faria's head. Maldini not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maldini frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Maldini punching from mount but Faria doing a good job of avoiding damage. Faria tries to hold on but Maldini pushes him away. Faria is trying desperately to improve position. Maldini with good strikes from the mount here! Maldini throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maldini misses with a head shot. Maldini is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Maldini!
