And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shorey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carvalho is fending him off so far but Shorey persists. Nope, Carvalho circles away and we're back to standing.
Shorey moves into the clinch.
Carvalho has hold of one of Shorey's legs. Shorey is fighting the takedown attempt but Carvalho gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Shorey had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carvalho defends it easily.
Shorey looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carvalho is one step ahead there.
Carvalho trying to control the position from guard on top but Shorey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shorey pulls Carvalho in close to prevent any damage.
Shorey manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Carvalho is looking to improve his position but Shorey isn't that keen on the idea.
Carvalho is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Shorey locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Carvalho is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lance Shorey!
An out of breath Lance Shorey thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
