Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Balestra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Macena!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macena moves in looking to clinch but Balestra pushes him off.
Macena throws a head kick that misses.
Macena displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Balestra.
Sloppy strikes from Macena. Those never looked like landing.
Balestra throws a low kick, looking for Macena's leg but Macena calmly moves out of range.
A right-left combo lands from Macena.
Balestra is rocked!
Macena stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Macena wants it to stay on the feet.
Oh Balestra is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Balestra really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Macena tries to close the distance and clinch up but Balestra swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Balestra throws a low kick but Macena moves out of range easily.
Balestra seems to have got his legs back now.
Balestra drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Macena tries to bench press Balestra off him but Balestra keeps the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Balestra decides to stand up, so the ref orders Macena to his feet.

Macena tries to clinch up but Balestra circles away and keeps his distance.
Balestra displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Macena.

Macena moves in looking to clinch but Balestra pushes him off.

Macena dives in and grabs Balestra's left leg, looking for a takedown. Balestra pushes down on Macena's head and hops out.

and Balestra counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Macena!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Macena is in a horrible position here. Balestra smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Balestra can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Macena is looking to escape.

Macena is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Balestra off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Balestra is looking for the choke from the back position but Macena is controlling his hands well.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Balestra controlling the positon.
Balestra's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Macena holding both Balestra 's hands and preventing any damage.
Macena is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fernando Balestra dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Balestra tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Macena avoids it.

Macena drops down looking for an ankle pick but Balestra pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Balestra counters by moving into the clinch.
Balestra jumps into guard, dragging Macena to the mat.
Macena trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Macena got a little sloppy there for a moment and Balestra has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Macena has managed to get both his arms back between Balestra's legs - danger averted.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Macena stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Balestra throws up his legs and catches Macena in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Macena tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Balestra! That came out of nowhere!
