PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jaguncinho Cabramacho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Sabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sabre has chosen this pain feel real as his entrance music. Chris Sabre told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jaguncinho Cabramacho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Sabre!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabramacho closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sabre circles away.
Sabre swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Cabramacho counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Cabramacho is trying to push Sabre away but Sabre has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sabre is trying to pull guard but Cabramacho has him pressed against the cage.
Sabre wants to get back to striking at distance but Cabramacho won't allow it.
Cabramacho is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Sabre drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cabramacho pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cabramacho fails in his attempt to clinch.

Sabre shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cabramacho is trying to defend but Sabre finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Sabre is nestled in close to Cabramacho, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sabre is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cabramacho defends it well.

Sabre seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cabramacho does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Cabramacho is looking to control Sabre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cabramacho avoid being mounted?
Sabre takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sabre winds up and cracks Cabramacho with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sabre looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Cabramacho is not content to let Sabre control the position.
Sabre throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Cabramacho to regain full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sabre trying to control the position from guard on top but Cabramacho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sabre really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cabramacho. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sabre escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cabramacho gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sabre is trying to keep Cabramacho in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cabramacho accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cabramacho is stalling in the full guard.
Sabre managing to control the position.

Jaguncinho Cabramacho has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Horrible takedown by Cabramacho or perhaps it was just good defense by Sabre which made him look bad.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sabre closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cabramacho to the mat! Cabramacho manages to get full guard.
Cabramacho looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Sabre puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cabramacho is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sabre sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Sabre drives through and clinches with Cabramacho against the cage.
Cabramacho tries for a takedown but Sabre manages to get underhooks.
Sabre misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Cabramacho.
Sabre wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cabramacho is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cabramacho fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sabre has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Sabre on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cabramacho. Cabramacho obviously looking to wear him down.
Cabramacho changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sabre tries to avoid it but Cabramacho manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sabre to the ground. Sabre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaguncinho Cabramacho. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cabramacho escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cabramacho looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Cabramacho counters with a leg kick.
Cabramacho tries to clinch up but Sabre circles away and keeps his distance.
Cabramacho looks for a takedown but Sabre sprawls well.

and Cabramacho counters with a nice leg kick.
Cabramacho misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Sabre has taken the fight to the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Cabramacho's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Sabre is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Cabramacho keeps control of Sabre as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Cabramacho trying to stall but Sabre improves his position.
Sabre jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cabramacho walks away with a smile on his face. Sabre gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cabramacho tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sabre swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sabre misses with a few strikes there.
Good standup being displayed there by Cabramacho as he connects with a hook.

Cabramacho is looking to clinch but Sabre is avoiding it.

Sabre rushes Cabramacho and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cabramacho is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Sabre is trying to push Cabramacho away but Cabramacho has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Sabre lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cabramacho backs up against the cage.

Sabre drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cabramacho looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cabramacho looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cabramacho!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cabramacho decides to stand back up. Cabramacho steps back and let's Sabre get back to his feet.

Sabre throws a head kick that misses.
Cabramacho lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sabre leaves Cabramacho with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sabre. Cabramacho does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cabramacho throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sabre's waist but Sabre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cabramacho off to one side.

Chris Sabre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sabre winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Chris Sabre rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
