Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Dunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Gutierrez! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gutierrez shoots in looking for a takedown. Dunn tries to sprawl out of it but Gutierrez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dunn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Dunn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Dunn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dunn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gutierrez manages to avoid it. Gutierrez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dunn.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dunn forces Gutierrez back against the cage and clinches. Dunn lands a hook to the side of the head. Gutierrez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gutierrez wants to clinch. Dunn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gutierrez. John Dunn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julio Gutierrez. Dunn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gutierrez circles away quickly and effectively. Gutierrez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Dunn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dunn tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gutierrez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gutierrez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gutierrez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dunn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gutierrez trying to control the position but Dunn is working away. Dunn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gutierrez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Dunn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gutierrez on the ground. Dunn wants to control but Gutierrez postures up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gutierrez controlling the position from side mount. Dunn is looking to reverse the position. Dunn tries to escape but Gutierrez is in control. Dunn is not content to let Gutierrez control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gutierrez has knee on belly and moves into mount. Dunn tries to hold on but Gutierrez postures up. Gutierrez content just to control the position here. Dunn is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Gutierrez has taken his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dunn is keeping busy.
Gutierrez is not going to allow Dunn to sit and survive in this position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gutierrez looking for the choke but no joy. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dunn tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Dunn is squirming around, avoiding Gutierrez's attempts to control the action. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dunn is trying desperately to improve position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Julio Gutierrez dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dunn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gutierrez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Dunn misses with a double jab
and Gutierrez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Dunn misses with a straight right. Gutierrez misses with a takedown attempt - Dunn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Gutierrez shoots in and drives through. Dunn sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gutierrez throws a nice looking combination but Dunn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Dunn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gutierrez slips under a jab. Sloppy strikes from Dunn. Those never looked like landing. Dunn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No joy there for Dunn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gutierrez looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Gutierrez shoots in for a double leg but Dunn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gutierrez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dunn uses from the top position. Dunn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gutierrez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dunn throws an elbow that misses. Gutierrez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dunn's guard. Nice move by Gutierrez!

Dunn keeping moving, preventing Gutierrez from controlling successfully. Dunn wants to stand up but Gutierrez is controlling him. Gutierrez pushes down on Dunn's leg and manages to get into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dunn desperately trying to maintain half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Well, if Gutierrez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Dunn tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Gutierrez's elbow. Dunn stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dunn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gutierrez is still on wobbly legs! Can Dunn finish him? Dunn ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Gutierrez's jaw. Gutierrez's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Dunn does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Dunn! After the fight, John Dunn was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
